Geoffrey Rush is the youngest person to have won acting’s ‘Triple Crown’: an Oscar, Tony and Emmy. He is also the first actor to win an Oscar, BAFTA and Screen Actors Guild Award for one film. (And he only took up acting at school because he didn’t like sport).

As well as being an award-winning actor, he’s an accomplished pianist, has an Arts Degree from the University of Queensland and has been voted Australian of the Year.

Luxury for him is “if there’s a swimming pool”. He’s been a fan of Mandarin Oriental Hyde Park, London in particular ever since he watched the Horse Guards Parade with his children from their balcony, 20 years ago.

Geoffrey had no hesitation choosing UNICEF as his charity of choice.

"With films, I've gone to the kind of places I'd probably never normally go to. Luxury for me is always if there's a swimming pool."
